Childrens Programs
Sunday Mornings
Preschool (3 & 4 year olds) through second grade.
Held during the 9:00 AM Mass
Beginning the first Sunday in October through the first Sunday in May. Our Sunday School provides a special place at church for young children. In these classes they learn that church their home and God’s home too! They are also introduced to the power and beauty of the Mass! Plus, they will learn the stories of the Bible and Catholic rituals & practices. Our Preschool program is for ages 3 and 4. Class begins at 9AM in their classroom in the CFC building and lasts until Mass is over. Parents are asked to drop their child off before Mass and pick them up after. Our Kindergarteners, First & Second Graders begin Mass each week with their parents. After the Opening Prayer, Father Vic calls them forward and sends them out for their own special Liturgy of the Word for Children. During that time, we’ll explore (and practice) the parts of the Mass, discuss the Gospel & other readings, & learn more about our Catholic Faith in ways that make sense to them. Then during the Preparation of the Gifts (the collection) the children return to join their parents for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Our Second Grade class is one part of our sacramental preparation program. Along with parent meetings and workbooks, this class will help prepare them to receive the Sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation.Monday Nites Third through fifth grades
On Monday evenings from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Beginning the first Monday in October through the first Monday in May. Our Monday Night program deepens the experience of Catholic Faith and tradition for older elementary students. Our classes use Scripture, prayer, music, art, drama and current social events as ways to help our children grow in their understanding of our Catholic Faith and how to live it out. These classes also promote an awareness & understanding of Scripture as we focus on each Sunday’s readings. Each week we gather in both large and small groups for shared prayer & reflection. The different gatherings give us an greater opportunity to tap into the enthusiasm and faith that our young people have in lively and interesting ways.
