An Open Book!  An Owners Manuel of the BibleFrom the time of the Protestant Reformation until the Second Vatican Council, Catholics were discouraged to read the Bible, especially on their own.  After Vatican II, however, we were all encouraged to open the Sacred Scriptures and read God’s Holy Word.  But for many of us, we didn’t (and don’t) feel very comfortable opening this book.  Where do we start?  What do we read?  What does it mean?  Beginning in September on Tuesday evenings and Monday & Thursday mornings we are going to open the Bible and explore what is in there.  Come join us as we look at if from beginning to end.  We will talk about each book and what’s in there, reflect on the most important themes that run through all the books and, most importantly, find the ways to let God’s Holy Word speak to you and to me!  Join us:Thursdays, beginning Sept. 20 @ 9:45 AM until 11:15 AMMondays, beginning Sept. 24th @ 9:45AMorTuesday evenings at 7:00 PM beginning September 25th.  No previous Scripture Study experience is necessary.  Come meet great people  & join in the faith filled discussions!  Bring your Bible if you have one! Inquiry:  What does it mean to be Catholic? Why do Catholics believe what they do?  Come look closely at the core teachings of our faith. These classes are open to anyone and everyone.  Beginning Wednesday, September 19th, at 7 PM in the CFC.  Childcare & cookies provided.  Call Mathew for more information, 825-2333.
